Product Description

Pewag 3/8" (10mm) Security Chain – Sold by the Foot (Custom Lengths) | #13620

The Pewag 3/8" (10mm) Security Chain is a premium hardened square-link chain built for serious theft deterrence while still being practical to handle. This size is widely considered the real-world “sweet spot” — heavy-duty protection without the bulk of oversized chains.

Pro Tip: If you’re securing anything with paint or powder coat (motorcycle frames, wheels, gates, trailer rails), add a protective chafe sleeve and leave a little slack so the chain isn’t constantly rubbing in one spot. Pairing this chain with a tight-tolerance armored lock also reduces pry and leverage opportunities.

Each link is case-hardened to resist cutting, grinding, and prying attacks, and the square-link profile helps limit tool bite — a big advantage against bolt cutters and saws.

Key Features:

  • Chain size: 3/8" (10mm) square-link security chain
  • Hardness: 62 HRC surface / 49 HRC core, case-hardened to 10% depth
  • Weight: Approx. 1.65 lbs per foot
  • Sold by the foot: Order custom lengths up to 50 feet continuous
  • Best matched lock: Viro 4126 armored padlock (sold separately)

Why choose Pewag 10mm security chain?

You get a highly attack-resistant chain that’s still manageable for frequent use. It’s lighter and easier to handle than 12mm chain, yet significantly tougher than smaller 7mm options.

  • Ideal for motorcycles, ATVs, trailers, jobsite equipment, gates, and property security
  • Square-link profile helps prevent cutters and saw blades from gaining an effective grip
  • Custom lengths let you buy exactly what you need without excess chain
Important: Chafe sleeve is NOT included. Pewag chafe sleeve is sold separately. Padlocks and accessories are also sold separately unless explicitly stated.

Note: Pewag security chain is intended for theft prevention and anti-theft applications only and is not rated for overhead lifting or load-bearing.
