USR Stake Eyes
Stake eyes are simply light-duty eyelets made for terminating aircraft cable from 1/16" - 1/8" in diameter. For each size, there is more than one option of hole diameter, so please note the specifications below. Stake eyes feature an open channel design, and when properly swaged, the channel closes nicely around the cable. Buyer beware that improper installation could lead to premature failure of the stake eye, simply pulling off the cable. For this reason, stake eyes are very popular, but are best-suited only for light-duty applications like leashes, tethers and pull cables. They should be used only in applications where failure is not catastrophic.

As mentioned above, stake eyes should ideally be installed using a proper press with appropriate dies.
