Traditional Cable Wrappers

Just as the name implies, log wrappers are used in conjunction with a load binder to securely bundle logs while in transport on the trailer. And in place of web straps or any other kind of lashing, these are the primary product used in logging operations here in the Pacific Northwest. You should consult your local D.O.T. for specific regulations, but generally speaking, there are four wrappers per load. The cable and chain must achieve a Breaking Strength of 15,000 lbs or greater--and don't worry, our wrappers are built using components with specifications in excess of that standard. We use 6x36 class wire rope, which is still considered a general purpose wire rope, yet is much more flexible than 6x19 class with greater fatigue resistance. Choose between wrappers with standard (heavy) 5/16" Grade 70 chain or the newer 9/32" Grade 100 chain, which has become preferred by many drivers because it's lighter and easier to throw.

Cable-Lite Synthetic Wrappers

These wrappers--although not really "new" anymore--are certainly the new craze in the log truck market. Drivers like them because they are very lightweight, especially when combined with 9/32" Grade 100 chain. This makes them easier to throw, which helps to reduce rotator cuff injuries and overall worker fatigue. Having been in development for some time now, these wrappers have been thoroughly tested and the strength and performance is certainly there. In fact, this fiber exceeds the Breaking Strength of a comparable cable wrapper (see strength ratings below).
