Crosby G-2160 Wide Body Shackles – Superior Sling Protection & Strength
The Crosby G-2160 Wide Body Shackles maximize sling efficiency with a 58% increase in sling bearing surface, enhancing load distribution and eliminating the need for a thimble. Designed for wire rope, synthetic web, and round slings, they are quenched and tempered for strength, with forged alloy steel construction for sizes 7 to 300 metric tons and cast alloy steel for 400 to 1550 metric tons. Proof testing varies by size, with 2x WLL for 7-75 and 200-300 metric tons, 1.6x WLL for 125 metric tons, and 1.33x WLL for 400+ metric tons, while the design factor ranges from 5:1 (75-300 metric tons) to 4.5:1 (400-1550 metric tons). All shackles undergo individual proof testing, magnetic particle inspection, and Charpy impact testing at -20°C (-4°F), meeting DNV, ABS, and Lloyds certifications upon request. Available in galvanized, Dimetcoted, or fully red-painted finishes, these shackles offer exceptional durability and reliability for critical lifting applications.
