They are commonly used in applications where frequent connections and disconnections are required.  Think of these as a "pick and place" shackle.  They will be attached for the purpose of picking and placing the load, then detached.
2. Crosby Screw Pin Anchor Shackles (G-209A Series): These shackles are very similar to the regular G-209 shackles, except they are made of alloy steel and do not have a red pin.  Because they are made of alloy steel, they are inherently stronger.  For example, a 5/8" G-209 shackle has a Working Load Limit of 3-1/4 tons whereas a 5/8" G-209A shackle has a Working Load Limit of 5 tons.
3. Crosby Bolt Type Anchor Shackles (G-2130 Series): These shackles feature a bolt, nut, and cotter pin design for secure load attachment. They are known for their high strength and durability, making them suitable for a wide range of lifting and rigging tasks.  They have the same general size and load ratings as the G-209 shackles, but because of their bolt, nut and cotter setup, they are used primarily for long-term or permanent installations.
