Van Beest Green Pin®--Quality You Can Afford
Green Pin® traces its origin back to 1922: in that year Dirk van Beest started to manufacture the shackles that would later be branded Green Pin®. Today, the product line has grown into an internationally recognized, high-quality brand of rigging hardware, that is actually the brand of choice for many users in the field, especially in Europe. Here in the USA, Van Beest is enjoying increased market share and brand recognition as well. Some users either cannot get or cannot afford a premium USA brand when it comes to rigging hardware, and that's where Van Beest comes in, especially with shackles. They have a wide range of rigging shackles to choose from, and they're made in Europe for those customers that require TAA compliance.
G-4161 and G-4163 Shackle Types
Their two most popular shackles are the G-4161 Screw Pin model, and the G-4163 Bolt Type variant. Both shackles have virtually identical sizing specs and Working Load Limits (WLL's) when compared one to the other. The G-4161's are great for common "pick and place" applications where the shackle will be installed and then removed time and again. For permanent or semi-permanent installations, the G-4163 models offers a safer solution, with a bolt that is secured both with a nut and cotter key. This help to prevent the pin from "backing out" during use. We offer both shackles in a range of sizes, from small 3/16" shackles that fit into the palm of your hand, up to 1-1/2" shackles that boast a 17T WLL. And of course, larger shackles, and even different shackle models are available upon request.
If you've been hesitant to give Van Beest Green Pin® shackles a try, well, we humbly suggest you quit waiting. We know you'll be satisfied with their performance, and the cost-to-benefit ratio is hard to beat!
