Crosby S-280 Web Connectors – Shackle Functionality with Web Sling Optimization
The Crosby S-280 Web Connectors function similarly to traditional shackles, providing a strong and secure connection for lifting applications, yet they are specifically engineered and classified by Crosby as web sling connectors. Designed to connect synthetic web and round slings to conventional hardware, these alloy connectors feature a wide-radius spool that enhances load distribution, preventing damage to sling fibers while allowing 100% of the sling’s rated Working Load Limit (WLL) to be achieved. The vinyl cover protects the sling’s eye and ensures proper positioning, eliminating the need for a retaining pin that could snag material. Compatible with Type III (eye & eye), Class 7, 2-ply web slings, the S-280 is available in sizes supporting WLLs from 2 to 8.5 tons, meeting WSTDA-RS1 standards for synthetic slings while simplifying field assembly for lifting operations.
