Ulven #126 Guyline Sleeve Shackles
This specialty shackle really was designed for the timber industry. Its design is unique for logging, as this shackle is the perfect choice for terminating a guyline or skyline around a stump (see illustration at right). The large bale on this shackle allows for an ample bend radius so the line does not get kinked, which would reduce its strength. It is made from hand forged alloy steel, right here in Oregon. These shackles do not have Working Load Limits assigned to them, rather they are selected based on the size of wire rope they are being used with.
Ulven forest products are designed to be used with and tested with wire rope conforming to the following description: New 6x19 or 6x37 Class, EIPS, IWRC, RRL wire rope made to US specifications. These shackles are for use in logging / skidding or pulling applications only.
