Tough, Fast, and Field-Ready: Wedge-Type Quick Ferrules for Wire Rope
Wedge-type quick ferrules—also called spiral wedge ferrules or "quick nubs" in the Pacific Northwest—are heavy-duty, color-coded dead-end fittings designed for fast and secure terminations on wire rope chokers, winch lines, and drumlines. Made from high-strength alloy steel, these ferrules fit 7/16" to 1-1/4" rope, with additional sizes available upon request. They feature rifled two-piece wedges (bronze or steel, based on availability) for superior grip and holding power. Quick ferrules are easy to install in the field using a hammer and vise—no swaging or molten socket metal required—and can also be resin-poured using industry-standard resins (not limited to a specific brand), offering versatile installation options. Once installed, they serve as a permanent dead-end fitting, and replacement wedges are available separately for maintenance.
