What Kind Of Chain Is This?
This is Pewag's original design for security chain, yet in a smaller, lighter size. It is surface hardened the same as the bigger 3/8" size (62 HRC Min.), yet because it is smaller, it does not offer quite the same level of security. But make no mistake, this chain is still very hard to cut and works well for securing bicycles, scooters and other similar items. On jobsites and in remote locations, a bigger chain might be a better choice.
How Is This Chain Different From The 3012 Chain?
For starters, the 3012 chain is no longer available. It is actually a traction chain that was not originally designed for security with a plain finish that was vulnerable to surface rust. The 3012 chain is also bigger at 12mm in diameter. While this chain is hardened 10% deep, the 3012 chain is hardened 6% deep. From a cosmetic perspective, this chain is silver while the 3012 chain is black.
How to Order
This chain ships to us from the factory in 100ft sections. That means the longest continuous length we can offer is 100 linear feet. If you want your chain cut to any particular length, simply choose that length from the drop down list above. If you want multiple pieces cut in different lengths, you can do that as well. Just click the length you want from the drop down list, add to cart, and repeat that process until you've added all your required lengths to the cart.
It's worth noting as well that you receive an automatic discount when you order 100 feet because that means less cutting and handling for us.
