The Caldwell Model BEF Spreader Beam End Fittings let you custom-build a spreader beam using A53 Grade B, Schedule 40 pipe, offering a versatile and cost-effective alternative to fixed beams. Designed for 2.5", 5", and 8" nominal pipe sizes, the working load limit (WLL) depends on pipe diameter and length, with longer beams reducing capacity. For proper assembly, the pipe must be straight within 1/4" end to end, have cleanly cut square ends, and be free of weld joint irregularities. Each end must have correctly aligned holes drilled through both walls, though pressure testing is not required. These individually sold fittings accommodate various top and bottom shackle sizes and must be secured with Grade 5 Hex Head Cap Screws—5/8"-11 bolts (4-1/2" or 8" minimum) for BEF-2.5 and BEF-5, and 1"-8 bolts (11-1/2" minimum) for BEF-8. When assembled to specifications, the system meets ASME standards for safe lifting, making it ideal for construction, manufacturing, and custom lifting applications requiring adjustable beam lengths.
