Product Description
Rock Exotica® Akimbo² Mid-Line Climbing Device
The Rock Exotica® Akimbo² is the next-generation mid-line attachable climbing device, engineered for professional arborists who demand precision, efficiency, and versatility. Building on the proven design of the original Akimbo, this upgraded model allows climbers to ascend, position, and descend on both Stationary Rope Systems (SRS) and Moving Rope Systems (MRS)—all without removing the device from the rope or detaching from the saddle.
The Akimbo² features an adjustable friction system for smooth, controlled movement on ropes ranging from 11.5 mm to 12.7 mm in diameter. Friction settings can be fine-tuned easily without tools or a restricted rope list, making it compatible with a wide variety of arborist-grade climbing lines. Enhancements include a new SRS tending option, improved rope interface for better efficiency, and replaceable components that extend the device’s working life. Certified under CE 0598 and built in the USA, the Akimbo² continues Rock Exotica’s legacy of innovation and craftsmanship in professional climbing hardware.
