Rock Exotica® Unicender – Dual Mode Rope Climbing Device
The Rock Exotica® Unicender is a highly versatile climbing device designed for professional arborists who climb using both Doubled Rope Technique (DdRT) and Single Rope Technique (SRT). Its innovative design allows seamless transition between ascent and descent without changing hardware, eliminating the need for multiple devices in the tree. Compact, efficient, and built for expert users, the Unicender is a favorite among experienced climbers for its smooth control, durability, and ease of mid-line attachment.
Constructed from CNC-machined aluminum and stainless steel components, the Unicender grips the rope using a unique series of interlocking friction plates. This design minimizes rope wear, ensures reliable holding power, and allows rapid detachment anywhere along the line. It performs equally well on low-stretch arborist ropes between 11 mm and 13 mm (7/16" to 1/2"), making it compatible with many professional-grade climbing lines. Whether advancing, positioning, or descending, the Unicender offers exceptional efficiency and control on both moving and stationary rope systems.
