Product Description
Peavey Manufacturing Standard Peavey – 48", 54" & 60"
The Standard Peavey is the original logging tool that revolutionized the timber industry when Joseph Peavey invented it in 1857. Still manufactured in the USA by Peavey Manufacturing in Eddington, Maine, this classic tool remains a must-have for loggers, sawmills, and anyone handling timber. Available in 48", 54", and 60" lengths, it offers the perfect balance of strength, reach, and maneuverability.
How the Peavey is Used
The peavey is designed to give leverage and control when handling logs. Its hardwood handle and duck bill hook allow workers to:
- Roll and position logs safely and efficiently
- Turn logs for cutting or sawing
- Lift and pivot logs into place when stacking or building
- Break log jams in rivers or sawmills
Unlike a cant hook, the peavey features a sharp spike at the end of the handle, providing added grip when separating or prying logs.
