Product Description

High-Performance Swaged Logging Rope with Smooth Outer Surface

Swaged wire rope is a high-performance logging cable engineered to outlast and outperform traditional wire rope in tough, abrasive environments. During the swaging (compacting) process, the rope is compressed after closing, creating a smoother outer surface, greater linear density, and increased resistance to snagging and drum crushing. The result is a rope that spools cleaner, runs easier over sheaves, and stands up to the rigors of life in the woods.

Pro Tip: Swaged cable is much stiffer than regular wire rope and typically feels greasy by design (to protect it in harsh service). Handle with care—especially when unpacking a new coil and if you’re new to compacted/swaged rope. This is a performance rope built for logging, not a “soft-hand” general cable.
  • Higher linear density (more weight per foot) for greater strength at a given diameter
  • Smoother outer surface to reduce snagging and abrasion in rough conditions
  • Improved spooling with added resistance to drum crushing
  • Durable outer strands built for demanding logging applications
  • Material: Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS) with Independent Wire Rope Center (IWRC)
  • Mill certificates available upon request

Common uses: skyline, guyline, dropline, skidding line, haulback, and drumline applications where durability, spooling performance, and longer service life matter most.
