Product Description

Thern Commander® 2000 Davit Crane (5PT20) – Up to 2,000 lb Capacity

The Commander 2000 (5PT20) is Thern’s high-capacity portable davit crane designed for smooth 360° load handling with a telescoping boom and adjustable boom angles. It disassembles quickly (no tools) for transport, offers multiple corrosion-resistant finishes, and pairs with manual or powered winches to match your lift speed and duty cycle. Made in USA.

Pro Tip: The base and wire rope assembly are sold separately. Choose the proper base (pedestal, flush, wall, or wheel) and cable diameter/length for your site and lift height.

Key Features

  • Capacity: Up to 2,000 lb (907 kg), depending on boom angle and reach.
  • Boom & Rotation: Telescoping boom with adjustable angles; heavy-duty base bushing enables smooth, 360° rotation under load. Optional roller-bearing kit available.
  • Fast Setup: Quick-release hardware and pins—no tools required—for easy breakdown and transport between sites.
  • Finishes: Available in powder coat, galvanized, epoxy, 304 SS, or 316 SS for maximum corrosion protection.
  • Power Options: Spur or worm-gear hand winches, drill-drive assist, or electric winches (AC/DC).

Performance Overview

The Commander 2000 is rated for lifts up to 2,000 lb (907 kg). Load capacity decreases gradually at longer boom extensions, but the telescoping design provides exceptional versatility for reaching over tanks, rails, and walls. The crane’s 360° rotation and quick-mount winch bracket make it ideal for manufacturing, marine, wastewater, and general industrial use.

Common Accessories

  • Roller Ball Bearing Kits for 5PT20 (painted, 304 SS, and 316 SS variants).
  • Wire Rope Keeper (RK19-25S / -S316) and Cable Spooler (RW50) for managing cable when detached.
  • Limit-switch-ready electric winch options and optional stainless headache balls for enhanced safety.
Important: Base installation is the customer’s responsibility. Consult a qualified professional and use the correct anchor kit for the base and substrate.
