Product Description

The skidding cone is an essential tool for small-scale forestry. It prevents logs from colliding with roots, stumps and other obstacles. Its elliptical nose provides solidity and allows it to slide over the residual trees thus avoiding regeneration damage. It's made of high-performance plastic, which is light, flexible and practically unbreakable. Its large opening can receive logs up to 50 cm diameter or several small stems attached together using a choker chain. Friction with the ground is reduced considerably, which allows larger loads to be carried. It can be used behind an all-terrain vehicle, a snowmobile, a small tractor or even a horse. And it can be used in any season since it is resistant to temperatures of up to -22ºF (30ºC).

How To Use It
Take a look at the image above, and you can see how the skidding cone works. First, choke the chain around the log and tighten with the C-hook. Then, take the remaining chain and rod, and pass them through the hole in the end of the cone. Lastly, simply use the locking grab hook, connected to your winch rope, to make the final connection. Take just one good look at this thing and you can tell, it was obviously designed for pulling logs with a capstan winch!

Hello David,

Shipping for this item to your zip code is very expensive. It's a combination of the dimensions on the skidding cone and your destination. UPS comes back @ $249.92. If only this item were smaller and could go in a flat rate box!
