Product Description
The Petzl Basic RAD Kit (Rapid Ascent & Descent) is a compact and efficient rope access system designed to help you ascend and descend with ease. Popular among tree climbers, sailors, and technical rescue professionals, this setup provides mechanical advantage for climbing and a smooth, controlled descent when you're ready to come down. Simply remove the ascending gear and deploy the included GRIGRI device for a seamless transition from ascent to descent.
This system is compact, lightweight, and versatile—perfect for situations where mobility and speed are critical. Whether you're climbing a tree, accessing a sailboat mast, or handling rope work in another vertical environment, the RAD system helps get the job done efficiently. There are multiple instructional videos online demonstrating similar setups, but hands-on training is always essential.
