Snatch Blocks
Bishop Lifting Rentals stocks high quality brands of snatch blocks from Crosby, McKissick and Johnson. The snatch block is one of today’s most widely used types of blocks. As generally applied, its title refers to that group of intermittent-service blocks which quickly attach and "snatch” or move loads over relatively short distances. This is opposed to long lifts and continuous service for which crane and construction blocks are designed.

Air Operated Chain Hoist
Smaller lifting projects can use air powered hoists depending on the application. These air powered hoists can handle loads from 120 lbs to 7.5 tons. Air powered hoists offer numerous benefits. They are simple to use and require minimum maintenance. Using an air powered hoist is often less expensive than an electric hoist. Also, since they run on compressed air, they do not product any sparks, thus making them explosion and flame proof.

Pre-Inspection Criteria
- All wire rope slings will be designed and manufactured to handle applied loads and verified by pre-use inspections.
- Visually inspect pipe sling tag and sling before use
- Identify before tightening the bundle clip, the correct bundle clip torque value (ft./lbs.)
- Check dates on sling tags if jobs are being delayed or stored in yards for an extended period of time to mitigate any possible out-of-date slings.
- All pipe slings that Bishop Lifting Rentals supply are re-certified by load test and documented every year

Each rental man-riding winch is transported on an engineered and certified skid package with certified lifting slings.

Pad Eyes
- ISO locks CANNOT be used as a lifting device
- Each corner must be opened up and boxed to build pad eye base using the appropriate material.
- The preferred style of pad eye is to be recesses into the base.
- Weld pad eye material into the box using the appropriate material in the configuration that each pad eye is facing the central lifting point.
Construction
- Modifications must be made to the ceiling of the box using the appropriate material in an “X” configuration to help support the pad eye load.
- All welds should be welded by using flux core wire.
- All materials being welded should have the appropriate bevel at the connecting point to achieve the proper amount of penetration.
- Floor and underside structure will be load tested at the same time as the pad eyes and unit to ensure sound construction.
