The gloves I bought last time were great. The only mistake I made was listening to some one's review. The person stated the gloves ran big. So I bought a large instead of extra large. DONT DO IT. They are true to size.

There is not a single right answer, but perhaps the most common choice would be the Crosby 1" G-209, which is rated @ 8.5T. Unless there is a very specific reason not to, you want your shackle rated equal to or greater than the hook.

Crosby uses a threaded round nut with a special "skirt" to cover the thrust bearing. Drive out the roll pin and unthread the round nut to get to the thrust bearing.
