Tough boots with outstanding traction

Just what I need for clearing steep, slippery slopes on the approaches to our private airfield. Haven’t used them yet due to a bout with the flu.

Are these Pronghorns able to be resoled? I might want to put Vibram outsoles on them at some point. See more »

Yes, we are told the Pronghorn boots can be resoled? This would need to be done by Hoffman at their facility in ID.

Yes, the steel spikes, called "calks" (pronounced as "corks") are for traction in the woods on fallen timber and generally slick terrain. We can't necessarily comment about climbing a tree stand. The spikes will likely slip if there is metal-to-metal contact. They're really designed for digging into wood.

No, these are not a steel toe. The only logger boots we offer with a steel toe are the Viking Chainsaw Boots.

We have not heard this from our customers, and in checking with Hoffman, they could not confirm this either. Overall we have heard they run pretty true to size.

Normally they do, however, right now we can't get them at all. They have been on order since September, and at this point, we do not know when we will see more Pronghorn boots.

Yes, but that is not a size we stock, so you'd need to give us a call @ 800-442-7454 and we can help you place that order.

Should I use waterproof spray on these boots? See more »
7 years ago
GORE-TEX does "...not recommend the use of waterproofing waxes or greases as they can seriously affect the footwear's breathability." Hoffman, as the manufacturer, is okay with the use of waterproof sprays but they recommend you find one advertised as being compatible with GORE-TEX.
