Wire Rope Fabrication & Splicing
Bishop Lifting specializes in heavy-duty wire rope fabrication, supporting everything from routine lifts to complex, mission-critical heavy-lift operations. All fabrication and splicing are performed in house by experienced craftsmen, allowing us to maintain strict quality control and consistency across every assembly.
We fabricate a wide range of wire rope assemblies, including:
- Wire rope slings up to 4.5" diameter
- Hand-spliced wire rope slings
- Braided wire rope slings (up to 9-part, 3.5" diameter)
- Single-leg and multi-leg sling bridles
- Wire rope grommets
- Swaged and socketed wire rope assemblies
To support these capabilities, we purchase wire rope in bulk and stock a broad selection of constructions, grades, and coatings. This allows us to respond quickly to customer requirements while maintaining flexibility for custom and engineered lifting solutions.
Our fabrication facilities are equipped with high-capacity hydraulic presses and tooling designed for heavy wire rope assemblies, capable of accommodating our largest sling and socketed-line configurations.
We perform wire rope socketing entirely in house, using both molten zinc (spelter) and poured resin systems (such as Crosby Wirelock®). The termination method is selected based on application requirements, ensuring a permanent, high-strength connection suitable for critical and heavy-lift operations.
Chain Sling Fabrication
We fabricate a full range of chain slings up to 1-1/4", including:
- Single and multi-leg assemblies
- Mechanically coupled chain slings
- Welded chain sling assemblies
All chain slings are built to meet applicable industry standards and customer requirements, whether for everyday lifting or extreme heavy-lift applications.
Synthetic Sling Manufacturing
As an authorized Slingmax® manufacturer, we fabricate a complete line of synthetic lifting slings, including:
- Flat web slings
- Round slings
- High-performance synthetic slings engineered for reduced weight and increased capacity in heavy-lift and offshore environments
Synthetic Rope Splicing & HMPE Assemblies
Our in-house rope shop handles splicing and fabrication of:
- 3-strand, single braid, and double braid ropes
- High-performance HMPE rope winch lines and slings
- Custom soft-rope lifting and pulling assemblies
We work with trusted manufacturers such as Yale Cordage, Samson, All Gear, and others to ensure performance, durability, and reliability—even in the harshest conditions.

Bishop Lifting is proud to be certified to the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Standard, reflecting our ongoing commitment to quality, consistency, and customer satisfaction. This certification was achieved following comprehensive third-party audits of our internal processes, fabrication standards, and quality management systems.
The scope of our ISO certification covers the design, manufacture, distribution, and sale of synthetic slings and tie-downs, as well as a broad range of lifting and rigging products. Certification currently includes several of our key facilities across the United States, including Houston (TX), Hurst (TX), Lafayette (LA), Milwaukee (WI), Miami (FL), Casselberry (FL), and Tampa (FL).

Liftmax® Lifting Devices
At Bishop Lifting, our Liftmax® brand of lifting devices are specialty fabricated below-the-hook lifting devices such as spreader bars, lifting beams, material baskets, and other lifters that aid in a number of lifting applications. Together with our manufactured slings and rigging hardware, Liftmax® lifting devices can make any lift possible.
Bishop Lifting employs an in-house team of mechanical engineers with years of industry experience. These skilled engineers allow us the ability to create custom drawings or work with any customer-supplied drawings to ensure the right tool is designed and fabricated for your lift. Utilizing the latest design technologies & highest quality custom fabrication techniques, our team of engineers is ready to design your custom lifting devices.
