Product Description
Thern 5BR5 Rolling Base — Portable Mobility for First Mate & Commander 500 Davit Cranes
The Thern 5BR5 Rolling Base provides a durable, mobile foundation for Thern’s portable davit cranes, including the 5PF5 First Mate and 5PT5 Commander 500. Designed for safe movement and stability, the 5BR5 allows a single operator to roll the crane into position, secure it with locking casters, and perform lifting operations safely on flat, level surfaces. When assembled with a compatible crane, the mast is bolted through the base to prevent rotation during lifting.
Key Features
- Compatible Models: Designed for use with the 5PF5 First Mate and 5PT5 Commander 500 portable davit cranes.
- Secure Anti-Rotation: Includes bolt-through mounting to lock the mast in place and prevent tipping during lifts.
- Rugged Construction: Welded-steel frame with corrosion-resistant zinc-plated hardware; total base weight approximately 77 lb (35 kg).
- Mobility & Stability: Rear swivel casters feature foot brakes for stable operation; front wheels are fixed for directional control.
- Compact Portability: Ideal for moving loads across maintenance areas, facilities, or job sites without permanent base installation.
Operational Guidance (Summary)
- Use only on a rigid, level surface capable of supporting the total crane and load weight.
- Lock rear casters before lifting; unlock to move. Keep the load low and secured to the mast when rolling.
- Center the hook directly over the load. Avoid side pulls and never adjust boom angle under load.
- Do not operate on inclined surfaces and do not exceed the load ratings marked on the crane’s load chart.
