Product Description
Peavey Manufacturing Standard Cant Hook – 48", 54" & 60"
The Standard Cant Hook is another essential logging tool from Peavey Manufacturing, built with the same American-made quality and tradition as the original peavey. Available in 48", 54", and 60" lengths, the cant hook is designed specifically for rolling, positioning, and handling logs on the ground or at the mill.
How the Cant Hook is Used
While the cant hook looks similar to the peavey, the main difference is the blunt tip at the end of the handle. This design makes it safer and more effective when working on solid ground, sawmills, or log yards where prying with a spike isn’t necessary. The cant hook is ideal for:
- Rolling and turning logs into position for cutting or milling
- Handling logs on flat surfaces without puncturing or damaging them
- Stacking and staging logs at mills, job sites, or construction areas
- Providing leverage to move logs with control and less strain
In contrast, the peavey has a pointed spike for prying and separating logs, making it better suited for breaking jams or moving logs in rough terrain.
