Product Description
Lewis LSG Snake Grips – Heavy-Duty Mesh with Swing Link and Swivel
The Lewis LSG Snake Grip is a reusable, heavy-duty mesh grip used to splice and pull new cable using an existing line. Each grip features a swing link on one end and a swivel on the other, allowing the assembly to move smoothly through sheaves and conduit while preventing cable twist during pulling. Constructed from galvanized steel mesh, the LSG grip expands or contracts to hold a range of cable diameters, tightening under tension to maintain a strong grip throughout the pull. These grips require no tools for installation and are built for repeated field use.
To operate, insert the old cable into one end and the new cable into the other until both meet in the middle. Secure each end with banding and tape (sold separately) to prevent snagging and ensure a reliable hold. This quick, efficient setup makes the LSG style an excellent choice for overhead, underground, and conduit-based cable replacement jobs.

Applications and Functionality
LSG Snake Grips are trusted by utility, telecom, and electrical professionals for safe, efficient cable replacement. The integrated swivel prevents twisting during long pulls, while the swing link improves flexibility and helps the grip travel through bends and pulleys. These grips are commonly used in power distribution, industrial plants, conduit upgrades, and field installations where splicing is necessary mid-line or where full cable access is limited.
Each grip is made in the USA and engineered for durability in tough environments. When properly banded and taped, the grip offers a low-profile connection that minimizes snags and ensures smooth, reliable pulling. With four size options to cover a wide range of cable diameters, the LSG series is a proven solution for demanding field work.
Note: Select the correct grip based on your cable size and load requirements. Banding and tape are required and sold separately. Not rated for overhead lifting.
