Product Description

Lewis LSG Snake Grips – Swing Link with Swivel

The Lewis LSG Snake Grip is a heavy-duty splicing tool designed to make cable replacement and pulling safer, faster, and more efficient. Built from flexible galvanized steel mesh, the LSG grip features a swing link on one end and an eye-eye swivel on the other. This unique hardware combination allows the grip to rotate freely and pass easily through sheaves, conduit, and blocks without twisting or binding—perfect for utility and telecom professionals working in overhead, underground, or in-duct applications.

To use the grip, insert the old cable into one end and the new cable into the other. Once both meet in the center, secure each end with banding and tape (sold separately). No tools are required, and the mesh grip adjusts automatically to hold a wide range of cable diameters under load. LSG Snake Grips are reusable and made to withstand harsh conditions over repeated uses.

Available Sizes and Working Loads

  • 1/2″ to 1″ cable – 2,500 lb working load
  • 1″ to 1-1/2″ cable – 3,500 lb working load
  • 1-1/2″ to 2″ cable – 4,000 lb working load

Applications and Functionality

These grips are widely used in overhead utility line work, substation projects, underground cable pulls, and telecom system upgrades. The integrated swivel reduces torque and line twist, while the swing link helps the grip move smoothly through blocks or conduit elbows. Because the grip expands and contracts with cable diameter, it provides a secure hold during long pulls—even when passing through multiple bends or elevation changes.

Field crews favor the LSG grip for its versatility, speed of installation, and ability to be reused across multiple projects. The hardware stays attached to the grip, reducing the number of components on site and simplifying logistics. Whether you're pulling new power cable through an existing conduit or replacing fiber-optic lines, the LSG grip is a trusted tool built for serious work. All sizes are proudly made in the USA.

Note: Select the appropriate grip size for your cable diameter. Banding and tape are required for use and are sold separately. Not rated for overhead lifting.
