Product Description

Sliding Choker Slings – Built for Legal Overhead Lifting

Sliding choker wire rope slings are purpose-built for overhead lifting—unlike logging chokers, which are not rated or approved for lifting. If you're lifting and need a cable-style choker sling, this is the correct, legal solution. These single-leg slings feature a sliding choker hook for fast, secure choking around rebar, pipe, and other materials commonly handled on construction sites.

Each sling is professionally fabricated in-house using a flemished eye splice—not a Texas tuck or turn-back splice—ensuring greater strength and reliability. The splices are swaged with a quality-controlled 500-ton hydraulic press and marked with paint for verification.

Key Features

  • Designed and rated specifically for overhead lifting in choker configuration
  • Flemished eye splice for maximum strength and durability
  • Sliding choker hook for quick and secure engagement around loads
  • 6x19 Class IWRC EIPS bright wire rope (standard on slings from 1/4" to 1" diameter)
  • 6x36 Class IWRC EIPS bright wire rope available for larger diameters upon request
  • Optional vinyl or metal load tag – metal tags recommended for long-term or heavy-duty use
  • Choker WLL from 2,200 to 11,000 lbs depending on sling diameter
  • Proof testing available upon request (fees apply)

We stock sizes up to 1" online. For larger diameters, custom lengths, or proof-tested slings, contact us for a quote.

The Right Choker for Lifting

Logging chokers are designed for one specific application—logging. The rules and regulations that govern logging operations are not the same as those that apply to overhead lifting in construction or industrial settings. As such, logging chokers are a special application product and should not be used for lifting. If your operation involves overhead lifting and you want a cable choker sling, this is the product to use. It’s built to meet lifting standards, includes proper hardware and splicing, and can be tagged for OSHA compliance.
