Product Description

9/16" Skidder Choker – Medium Duty+ Steel Cable Choker for Slider Systems

The 9/16" Skidder Choker is our Medium Duty+ option for logging crews using traditional slider systems. Built with a nub on both ends, this choker is not designed to connect directly to tractors or pickups—it must be used with a mainline and bell-style sliding choker hooks. The added diameter provides more strength and durability for heavier logs, steep terrain, and higher load demands.

Constructed from 6x19 class IWRC EIPS wire rope and swaged for long-term durability, this choker features a proven Midget-size choker hook that performs reliably in field conditions. It's a favorite among logging professionals who need something tougher than a 1/2" choker, but not as bulky as 5/8".

Pro Tip: This choker has a nub on each end and is meant for use with slider systems only. It cannot be hooked directly to a tractor, pickup truck, or tow ball. If you’re planning to pull logs using a direct connection, check out our Cat Choker instead. We see this mistake often—please double-check your setup before ordering.

Key Features:

  • End Fittings: Swaged nubs on both ends for slider system use
  • Choker Hook: Outfitted with a Midget-size choker hook for secure log choking
  • Medium Duty+ Rating: A step up in strength and durability from standard 1/2" chokers
  • Slider System Compatible: Works with bell-style sliding hooks on winch drumlines
  • Built In-House: Manufactured daily by our expert logging rigging team
  • NOT for Direct Hook-Up: Requires a slider system—do not use with tractors or pickups directly

Specifications:

  • Diameter: 9/16"
  • Wire Rope Type: 6x19 Class IWRC EIPS
  • Standard Lengths: 6 ft, 8 ft, 10 ft, 12 ft, 15 ft, 20 ft, 25 ft, 30 ft, 35 ft, and 40 ft
  • Custom Lengths: Available on request
