Product Description
AMH PCUA Vertical Plate Clamps – Secure Lifting for Steel Plates
The AMH PCUA Vertical Plate Clamps are engineered for vertical lifting and handling of steel plates with strength, reliability, and operator-controlled engagement. Constructed with a forged steel body and a spring-loaded cam, these clamps deliver consistent grip and durability in demanding lifting environments. The PCUA series includes models PCUA005 through PCUA050, with rated capacities from 0.5 ton to 5 tons. A manual lever mechanism allows full control during engagement and release, making these clamps ideal for steel fabrication, construction, and industrial lifting where vertical plate handling is required.
Key Features
- Forged Steel Construction: Built to withstand rugged jobsite use in high-load vertical lifting operations.
- Manual Locking Lever: Operator-controlled engagement and release for safe handling.
- Spring-Loaded Cam: Provides consistent clamping force throughout the lift.
- Surface Condition: Plate surfaces must be free of paint, rust, oil, or debris to ensure secure grip.
- Material Compatibility: For use with mild steel plates only (hardness up to 37 Rc / 345 HB).
- Vertical Use Only: Not for horizontal or angled lifting—strictly for vertical lifting applications.
- Capacity Range: 0.5 ton to 5 ton (PCUA005 to PCUA050).
- Jaw Opening: Varies by model to accommodate different plate thicknesses.
Specifications
- Rated Capacity: 0.5 ton to 5 ton
- Minimum Load: 10% of rated capacity required for proper gripping (e.g., 100 lbs for a 0.5 ton clamp)
- Application: Vertical lifting of flat steel plates and structural materials
- Material Hardness Limit: Up to 37 Rc (345 HB)
- Operating Temperature: –4°F to 130°F (–20°C to 54°C)
- Locking Mechanism: Manual lever-actuated engagement
- Compliance: Meets ASME B30.20 and OSHA inspection requirements
Note: Clamp must be manually engaged before lifting and manually released after setting down the load. Do not exceed rated capacity. Not for lifting people or for loads over people. Surfaces must be clean and free of contaminants. Use only for vertical lifting—do not side load or use on coated or hardened materials. Minimum load of 10% WLL is required for secure grip.
