Product Description
Chicago Regular Eye Bolts – Machine Thread, No Shoulder
These drop-forged regular eye bolts from Chicago Hardware are manufactured in the USA from heat-treated carbon steel and finished with hot-dip galvanizing for corrosion resistance. Designed without a shoulder, they are intended strictly for in-line (vertical) lifting or anchoring applications. This product line includes a wide range of shank lengths to suit deep connections or specialized configurations.
- Made in the USA by Chicago Hardware
- Drop-forged, heat-treated carbon steel construction
- Hot-dip galvanized finish for corrosion protection
- National Course (UNC) machine threads – threaded before galvanizing
- Supplied with hex nuts tapped oversize (nuts are imported)
- Available in sizes from 1/4" x 2" to 1" x 24"
- Working Load Limits range from 500 to 10,000 lbs (vertical pull only)
Intended Use: Regular eye bolts without a shoulder are designed for straight-line tension only. They are not suitable for angular lifting, side loading, or shock loads. Use only where the load is applied in-line with the shank axis.
Performance & Safety Notes:
- Rated capacities are based on a 5:1 safety factor
- Each eye bolt is pull-tested at a uniform rate of speed in direct tension
- Any deviation such as angular lifts, shock loading, or modifying the forging will significantly reduce capacity
- Special shank and thread lengths are available by special order
Warning: Do not use regular eye bolts for lifting at an angle. For angular lifts, select a proper shoulder eye bolt or a swivel hoist ring. Improper use can result in serious injury or equipment failure.
