Crosby® WIRELOCK® Socketing Compound – Resin for Spelter Sockets

WIRELOCK® W416-7 Socket Compound is the industry-standard resin-based system for terminating wire rope into Crosby spelter sockets—offering 100% termination efficiency without the hazards of molten metal. This compound is ideal for on-site applications and delivers superior fatigue resistance and long-term performance in both static and dynamic lifting systems.

WIRELOCK® is approved by major international certifying bodies including ABS, DNV, Lloyd’s Register, the U.S. Coast Guard, and others, making it trusted worldwide for critical lifting applications.

  • Temperature range: -65°F to +240°F (-54°C to +116°C)
  • Pouring range: 48°F to 110°F (6.7°C to 43.3°C) without booster pack
  • Booster packs available separately: 1 pack needed for 35°F–48°F, 2 packs for 27°F–35°F
  • Extended fatigue life vs. traditional molten socketing methods
  • Storage: 68°F (20°C) max in a well-ventilated area away from sunlight
  • Approved for use with: Crosby 416, 417, 427, and 517 spelter sockets
  • Hazardous material: Regulated for transport by US DOT, ICAO/IATA, and IMO
