Product Description

AMH GT Geared Trolleys – Precise Load Positioning with Chain Drive Control

The AMH GT Series Geared Trolleys offer smooth, controlled movement of loads along an overhead beam using a hand chain drive. Designed for both industrial and theatrical applications, these trolleys are available in capacities from ½ to 30 metric tons. Each model features cast iron wheels with a universal tread for flat or tapered flanges, sealed bearings for long-lasting performance, and a low headroom profile to maximize vertical lift. The standard hand chain drop is 20 feet, with optional extensions available.

Key Features

  • Hand Chain Drive: Manual geared travel provides precise load positioning on I-beams and overhead tracks.
  • Wide Capacity Range: Available in ½ to 30 metric ton models to meet most overhead lifting needs.
  • Tool-Free Installation (½–5t): Threaded hanger shaft allows easy beam width adjustment by hand—no tools required.
  • Heavy-Duty Construction: All-steel body with machined cast iron wheels and standard safety lugs for secure operation.
  • Low Headroom Design: Compact profile conserves lift height for tight spaces.
  • Sealed Bearings: Permanently lubricated and maintenance-free for smooth, long-term operation.
  • ATEX Rated: Certified for limited use in hazardous environments (II 3 GD c IIB T54°C X).
  • Optional Wide Flange Kits: Available for ½–5t models with flange widths up to 12".
  • Compliance: Meets OSHA, ASME B30.16, NASA-STD-8719.9, and EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
  • Warranty: Covered by AMH’s lifetime limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

Specifications

  • Capacity: ½ to 30 metric tons (1,100 to 66,000 lbs)
  • Standard Chain Drop: 20 feet (extended drops available by request)
  • Design Factor: 5:1 on ½–5t models (suitable for powered or manual hoists); 4:1 on 10t+ models (derating required for powered hoist use)
  • Beam Flange Widths: Adjustable range varies by model; wide flange kits available for ½–5t trolleys
  • Temperature Range: –20°F to 130°F (–29°C to 54°C)
  • Mounting Method: Threaded hanger shaft (½–5t), fixed one-side mounting (10t+)

Note: Do not exceed rated capacity. For use with straight beams only—do not side-load, lift at an angle, or use for lifting people. Always inspect the beam and trolley before use. Follow all OSHA and ASME B30.16 safety guidelines.
