Product Description
You can't buy stronger rope than this! Maybe you've heard about a rope that's replacing wire rope for winch lines--this is it! This rope is made from a special 100% High Modulus Polyethylene (HMPE) and meets SK75 specs. Size-for-size, it is stronger than wire rope (aka steel cable). To be clear, if you pull this 5/8" rope against regular 5/8" steel winch line, you will break the steel winch line first. It has many other great benefits too, such as being flexible, easily spliced, repairable in the field and even floating on water. You can even use this rope in freezing conditions!
Around here, in the Pacific Northwest, many call this "logging rope" because so many loggers have used it to make extensions, or even as a drum line (aka winch line). We stock it in common sizes, but we also get special pieces in larger diameters like 1" and 1-1/8". And please, stack this rope up against the competition and you'll see how well it specs out. This is the rope most of our winch lines and logging lines are made from, and we've seen it put to the test time and again. You won't be disappointed!
