Having tags on your chain slings (if used for lifting) is not only a good idea, it's legally required too! OSHA spells out the requirements very clearly, and all lifting slings that we produce come with a properly marked tag by default. If you need tags to bring some of your chain slings up to speed, then we have you covered. We offer steel tags that are ready to be stamped by a competent person, as well as plastic warning tags that inform chain sling users of the hazards associated with overhead lifting.
When doing inspections, be sure check your chain's tag to make sure it has all of the information outlined above. And while you're performing your inspection, whip out the Peerless Go-No-Go Gauge! It's a quick and easy tool to use to check for unacceptable material loss on your chain links. We even have a video showing how to use it!
